New Plant Pack! "Suburban Shade"

Hello Eden Gardeners:

Another plant pack has arrived in the Garden Center. "Suburban Shade" has lots of great shade loving plants - some annuals in the mix, and some more shrubs and structural plants. Check out the Eden Garden Center regularly for new packs and updates to those you have already.You can look forward to Water Gardens and Rock Gardens soon.

And we are always happy to get your suggestions.

Eden Garden Center Now Open!

We are very proud to introduce our new Garden Center.

The number one request we have had from users is More Plants.

The Garden Center Delivers.

In Eden 2.0 you will see a new button on the home screen labeled Garden Center. This is where you can get new plants and features -- in addition to the most popular free plants that come with Eden. Touching on the Garden Center will bring up the new plant packs. These are specially designed and commissioned packs of 20 plants and/or garden features plus a new background. Each pack has a theme which guides which plants are included, but once you download them the plants can be used in any background - either an Eden background or your own. Please keep letting us know which plants or features you would like us to add. We will keep lists until we get to 20 and then create user requested packs.

Be sure to check the Garden Center often, and touch on Download as this will make sure your plants packs are up to date.

EDEN 2.0 SUBMITTED!

Thank you to all of you who have stayed with us. We are out of the beta period and have submitted our well-tested and great new version of Eden.

The big news is that the new Eden Garden Centre will soon be live. In addition to all of the plants currently in Eden, you will be able to get lots of new plants to design with and enjoy. More plant packs will be added regularly -- remember to refresh and update often.

Also, we squashed some bugs and your backgrounds should work with no resolution issues.

Lots more exciting stuff to come over the next few months. In the meantime, get those update thumbs ready --- just in time for the spring planting season (up here in the north at least)

Eden Garden Center Beta

Hello Gardeners,

As promised, the Eden Garden Center is almost ready to launch. We are starting beta testing in February and if you would like to help us with this, please send email to beta@edengardendesigner.com saying why you would make a good beta-tester!

We are really excited about the new Eden Garden Center and we think you will be too. Some very cool new features and lots of new plants and backgrounds....

Sorry for the long period of radio silence here, we have been busy with a pretty big project -- nothing less than Eden V 2.0! We have two big things to whet your appetite:

1. The biggest request we have had since we began is MORE PLANTS. Well, we are about to deliver. We will ship with more plants and we will give you lots of options for getting even more .... which leads me to the next thing.

2. Eden Garden Center. This will be where you can download new plant packs to include in your plant library. Instead of packing Eden with hundreds of plants (which would have made Eden take over most of your iOS device's memory), we are allowing you to choose which plants you would like. In addition you will be able to download new backgrounds and other elements for your garden. There is still lots of testing and work to do, so we'll update some before the launch of 2.0

Hi all

version 1.3 dropped a little while ago with some bug fixes and a new plant or two -- and before you write to me I know, we need more plants

the issue is file size. If we put every plant we have into Eden the programme would weigh in at way more than can be downloaded over the air, and even while tethered to your computer, it would be a very large file

we are working on a fix for this -- please stick with us

in the meantime, hope you enjoy the app

Plant List: thanks to a few users who requested this -- a handy shopping list of the plants in your garden

Now I might be dating myself but one of my favourite movies growing up was The Jerk with Steve Martin, and one of the man memorable scenes in that movie was Navin (Martin) finally 'becoming someone' when his name shows up in the new phone book. He runs around shouting 'the new phone book is here! the new phone book is here!'

So now you know why I titled this entry as I did. Our new update (V1.1) is available and showing up on the updates tab of your iTunes account and on your iPhone. Do please download it -- there are lots of little fixes, a new Help menu, two new flowers and a bunch of optimisations, so things should work a bit more snappily!

I keep saying new updates are coming, so hopefully in a few weeks time you'll see more features and new plants as well.

We just submitted Version 1.1 of Eden Garden Designer to Apple -- let's hope they are quick to approve so you can enjoy the improvements.

Easier plantable area definition with Adam and Eve in diagonal corners

lots of optimisations and bug fixes

We are hard at work on Version 1.2 with lots more plants and more features, this should be ready soon, so keep an eye on your app updates.

Thanks for your suggestions so far. We aim to respond to all emails within 24 hours -- mostly right away actually -- so do let us know if you are having problems or would like to see something new. We want to ensure your experience is great.

Can't plant in your own background?

An issue for some new users is that they apparently can't plant when using their own backgrounds. This is because you have to define the plantable area -- just make sure that Adam and Eve's feet are at diagonal corners from each other and you will be able to plant. If you put then on either the front or back corners, the plantable area will be zero - hence no planting...

Sorry if the instructions in the app don't make this clear -- we are fixing the instructions and will have the newest build up soon. Should have a few more plants too!

We, obviously, think it is great, but we are always on the lookout for the next excellent feature we can add - so do let us know what you would like. if we use your idea, we'll give you some kind of credit (maybe even some flowers!)

After months of hard work, planning, revising, designing, dreaming and more hard work, we finally submitted Eden Garden Designer to Apple. We're hoping it gets cleared really quickly and can get released to the world.

We really hope that you like the product. There are a lot more features and plants on the way, so stay tuned and do let us know what you would like to see in the next iterations.
